MOLYNEUX DREDGE TO RESUME

The recent rain in the main ranges has at last caused the level of the Molyneux River to rise sufficiently to enable the Molyneux Gold Dredging Company's dredge to resume operations, states the "Otago Daily Times." The necessary staff is being collected as rapidly as possible and it is hoped that a commencement will be made today. It is the intention of the company to move the dredge through the narrow rock-bound section lying immediately ahead, as this contains at least, four obstructions insurmountable at low river levels. Dredging operations ' will be begun where the conditions are much more favourable at a point one mile and a quarter above the present dredging position. The move up the river, and the consequent alteration to the power line will occupy some time and it is not anticipated that actual dredging will be resumed for three or four weeks.
