SUPREME COURT

BUSINESS OF SESSION

Eight persons will stand their trials on criminal charges at the quarterly session of the Supreme Court, which will begin on Monday, and there is a long list of civil and divorce cases. Mr. Justice Quilliam is to take the criminal business, and the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) will preside over the civil sittings.

Twenty-four civil cases are set down for hearing by a Judge and jury of twelve, the largest amount claimed being £7000 for injuries received. A Judge and jury of four will hear two cases, and eleven will be heard by a Judge alone.

There are five defended divorce petitions, and 51 undefended petitions.
