CRISIS IN LITHUANIA
POLISH REPORT
GERMAN PROPOSALS
OFFER OF 15-YEAR PACT
LONDON, October 4,
Polish newspapers are claiming that a crisis has occurred in the Lithuanian Cabinet over'"proposals" from Germany, says the Warsaw correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph."
It is reported that Germany has offered Lithuania a 15-year pact of non-aggression under conditions which would make her a German vassal State.
The pact would be conditional on Lithuania's renouncing all connection with Russia and basing her policy on friendship with Germany. Her trade with Britain would have to be revised in, order that all her agricultural produce would in future be sold to Germany. In return Germany promises to reciprocate by. supplying machinery and manufactures at present bought in Britain.
