WELLINGTON ESPERANTO CLUB
The Wellington Esperanto Club held its weekly meeting in the club's rooms, Victoria Street, on Monday evening. Mr. E. A. Hornblow presided. A comprehensive booklet on first aid, written entirely in Esperanto, was received from the publishers, Messrs. Burroughs, Wellcome, and Co. It was announced by Mr. Vernon J. Leek, D.8.E.A., that the club examination would take place on October 30. Mr. Leek gave a brief resume of the paper set, a- further and more comprehensive report being published in the club's weekly bulletin.
The programme period was opened by Mr. W. Turowski, who presented an unusual playlet in five small acts. Mr. R. D. Saunders reproduced a radio play, which had recently been broadcast from Brno, Czechoslovakia. Miss Pam Sanders. Messrs. Anton Vogt. Major McAlister, and Miss Coila Olsen aided in the presentation. Mr. Nelson Hill. D.8.E.A., together with Misses Molly Hooker and Coila Olsen. concluded the programme with nn amusing sketch in a modern hat shop. It was announced that a 'dance would be held next Monday alter classes.
