FREE AMBULANCE APPEAL
FINE RECORD OF SERiVICE
The annual appeal is now oeing made to the residents of Wellington to enlist their assistance in carrying on the work of the Wellington District Free Ambulance. During the twelve months ended March 31, 12,000 patients were attended, and the cars travelled 100,000 miles—a great record of service to the sick and injured. The cost of running the service—approximately £400 per month —is met principally by voluntary contributions, and the board will be grateful; for assistance in. their effort to maintain the service in its present efficient state.
Intending visitors to "Homewood," Mr. and Mrs. B. Sutherland's lovely place in Karori, for the Free Ambulance ladies' auxiliary's musicale on Friday, will be well catered for. Not only will they have an opportunity of seeing "Homewood" and its gardens, but also-a splendid musical programme has been arranged by Mr. Herbert Wood. Those who will take part include Mrs. Wilfred* Andrews, Mrs. Beswick, Miss Goodson, Miss Annette Sloan, Mr. Herbert Wood, and Mr. Reg. Maddock.
