DEATH IN HOSPITAL
WOMAN WHO WAS SHOT
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE

NAPIER, October 3,
Admitted to the Napier Public Hospital early this morning with a bullet wound in the lower abdomen, Mrs. Isabel Annie Ayes, Westshore, aged 51, died at 10.25 o'clock tonight.
Charged with attempting to murder Mrs. Ayes, Colin Herbert Hercock, aged 21, Waipawa, appeared before Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, and on the application of the police he was remanded until October 10.
NAPIER, This Day. An inquest will be opened this evening.
