HITLER'S THREATS
"SHAMEFUL SURRENDER"
BRITISH LABOUR PROTEST
LONDON, September 22.
The executive of the Labour Party, after a conference today, issued a manifesto as follows:— "This meeting, representing the British Labour movement, has read with profound humiliation the statement of the Czechoslovakian Government saying that it had been forced to yield by irresistible pressure. This is a shameful surrender to Herr Hitler's threats. "Britain's long-established traditions of democracy and justice have been dishonoured. This dishonour will not bring peace. "There is no longer a frontier in Europe that is safe. Herr Hitler's present triumph will be the starting point for further warlike adventures, which must lead to a general conflict." I The National Council of Labour is conducting a campaign throughout the country to protest against the plan. A mass demonstration is to be held in London on September 26.
