ACCOMPLISHMENT
"When I read the Labour Party't manifesto in tonight's paper," said Mr. O. C. Mazengarb, National candidate for Wellington Suburbs, at Wadestqwh last night, "my thoughts were carried back to the occasion of a famous noconfidence debate some years ago when an Auckland member (noted more for his passionate oratory than for hi» clearness of diction) concluded nil speech with these words: 'And, Mr. Speaker, if the Government can only accomplish what it has done, it will have my support.' The Labour Party plainly declares its intention to. retain its octopus clamp on the finances of the country, on the farmers, and the people who have to pay through the nose by direct and indirect taxation for the maintenance of a policy which haa already frightened the wits out of industry." . :
