SPANISH CHILDREN'S FUND

The Mayor acknowledges with thanks the following donations to the National Relief Fund for Spanish refugee children: — \ Previously acknowledged, £1105 14s 3d; "Posies 6s E.C.," 6s; anonymous, per 2ZB, 5s 4d; Taranaki Street Methodist Sunday School, ss; total, £1106 10s 7d. Other towns: Previously ac knowledged, £1053 5s lid; Ingle wood Borough Council, 10s 4d; Otahuhu Borough Council, £7 12s 7d; Matamata [Borough Council, £4 10s; Levin BorI ough Council, £4 9s; Horowhenua Borough Council, £2 2s; total, £1082 3s 6d. Donations received to date total £2188 14s Id. "COPPER TRAIL." A most successful "Copper Trail" was held in Lambton Quay yesterday afternoon between the hours of 12 i noon and 2 p.m. The Quay was divided into sections with a leader for each section. A total of £8^ 6s lid was received and the banking was made up as follows: —Pennies £39 8s lOd, halfpennies £2 3s 7d, silver coins £22 4s 6d, and a cheque for £1 10s. The committee wishes to thank the following individuals and organisations who controlled sections of the trail:—Mesdames Ivin and Petch and friends (Wellington Red Cross Society), Mr. White and friends (Y.M.C.A.), Miss Kirkwood and friends (Y.W.C.A.), Miss Emanuel and University students, Mr. A; C. Barrington and assistants, Mr. Christie and assistants (Toe H.), Miss Lorna Adams j and assistants, Miss Ashbolt and assistants, and Mesdames DennistounWood and Webb, who controlled the committee's section of the trail.
