COLLEGE DEBATE

"That the present age offers more opportunity to a young man for adventure than any previous age" was a motion debated by junior . debaters from Wellington College and Rongotai College at Rongotai yesterday.

Mr. R. Hogg, master in charge of the Rongotai College Debating Society, presided. The teams were as follows:— Rongotai: G. G. Robinson, B. F. M. Renner, and G. S. Shapiro. Wellington: R. J. Welling, P. R. Bullock, and G. H. Walsham.

The judge, Mr. Scotney, placed the Wellington College team first, adjudging G. H. Walsham the best speaker, followed by B. F. M. Renner and R. J. Welling. The Wellington team was welcomed by the headmaster, Mr. F. M. Renner, Mr. L. R. Palmer, master in charge of the Wellington College team, replying. !
