YOUTHFUL BANDIT

DARING HOLD-UP AT BONDI

(Received September 23, 9.30 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

A daring robbery was committed yesterday by a youthful bandit at Bondi. The local postmaster. Robert Wilson, had drawn £766 from the bank and was returning to his post office in order to pay the old age pensions, when an armed youth thrust a revolver into his stomach and ordered him to drop the bag.

Wilson, completely flabbergasted, complied. The youth ran off with the money, scaled a fence, and disappeared. Several waiting pensioners witnessed the hold-up, but were too old to assist in the pursuit of the fugitive.

Detectives arrested a youth aged 16 and are now looking for a youth aged about 20.
