ACCIDENT REACTION
A JUDGE'S OPINION
The Court of Appeal yesterday indulged in a little speculative discussion regarding the reactions of a person involved in a motor accident.
Counsel for respondent in the action under discussion (Mr. M. J. Gresson) expressed a doubt as to whether the first thought of a man who had become involved in an accident would be that he was likely to have an action for damages brought against him. Would his first thought not be for the safety of the person hurt? counsel suggested.
Mr. Justice Callan: Possibly it would be. So far as lam personally concerned, I am quite sure that thought about an action for damages would follow very shortly afterwards.
