VISITOR FROM INDIA
TRAVEL CLUB RECEPTION
The Travel Club entertained a number of prominent visitors at a reception yesterday afternoon in the Majestic Lounge, the guests of honour being Dr. Kalidas Nag, of the Calcutta University, and Mr. C. P. Hainsworth, general manager of the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition Company, Ltd., arid Mrs. Hainsworth.
Also seated at the official table with the hostesses and chairman were Mr. and Mrs. Johannes Andersen, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Lawlor, Mr. Alan Mulgan, Mr. John Brodie, Mrs. G. G. Stewart, Mr. O. N. Gillespie, Miss Mildrum (Christchurch), and three members of the "Desert Song" company, Misses A. Green, J. Hurley, and B. Sparks. The hostesses were Mrs. H. B. Oakes, Miss B. Holm, Mrs. F. McAuley, and Miss N.E. Donovan. (secretary), and the chairman was Mr. G. G. Stewart.
The lounge looked very attractive, spring flowers and ferns being arranged in the foyer and all the tea tables being bedecked with daffodils. Tea was served to the large gathering. Miss Ethel Gibson, accompanied at the
