GOLD DREDGE RECOVERED

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

TAKANINI, September 22. E. C. Walker, who twelve months ago acted as private trainer to Mr. A. J. B. Norris, has returned to Takanini, and is continuing with his training activities. At the moment he has the trotter Baby Triumph under his guidance, and she is making steady progress. It is reported that the well-known trotting trainer A. W. Broughton will shortly take up his residence in Takanini, a training establishment having been acquired for this purpose. It is expected that he will make a move at an early date. Gold Dredge has returned to work after being under treatment since her return from the Addington Meeting early last month. She has lost a lot of condition as a result of her enforced respite, but hopes are entertained that she will make a complete recovery. One of the best-conditioned pacers at Takanini is the Blue Mountain King horse Kewpie's King, who has clearly benefited by his outing at the last Auckland Meeting. He looks in his best form again, and his trainer, C. H. Goodall, is confident about his acquitting himself well in the Hamilton Cup, where he will be off the front. Goodall may also take Ranfurly Lass and Militia to this fixture. Tagua, who went amiss on the eve of the last Auckland Meeting, is again going along nicely for S. Matthews, who intends taking him to the Waikato Meeting in company with Musketeer and Atarau King.
