United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received September 12, 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Federal Cabinet is to consider today representations made to the Prime Minister (Mr. J. A. Lyons) in Canberra on Saturday by a deputation from the coalminers. It is stated in union circles that the deputation's proposal was that the Government should convene a conference representing the miners and the owners with an independent chairman to consider the men's [ claims. The non-federation miners of the Rothbury mines have offered to remain ! idle for the period of the strike. Coal won in these pits had been considered the only substantial source of northern coal available during the strike. Members of the Engine Drivers* and Firemen's Union employed in mines | have decided to cease work immediately if their claims for improved conditions are hot acceded to.
