WELLINGTON B TEAM'S WIN
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, September 10. After a rather ragged exhibition of Rugby the Wellington B team beat Marlborough by 17 points to 12. The visitors played more open football and had better understanding and combination, but they lost a good many points through inability to finish off movements. The Marlborough side also suffered through lack of thrust, their failure being mainly attributable to slow and inaccurate service from the scrum, while the combination of the backs was slow and no}; up to standard. ' ■ In the first spell Wellington led 9-3, but Marlborough evened half-way through the second spell at 12-all. Welington scored the deciding points ten minutes from the end and the remainder of the game was fairly even but distinctly ragged. For the winners Stevens, Brien (2), and Jones scored tries and^. Crisp kicked a penalty goal and converted one try. For Marlborough Foley and O'Rourke scored tries and both Sowman and Mellish kicked penalty goals.
