CAR LEAVES ROAD
COLLISION WITH YACHT
An unusual accident befell a car which was travelling south around the Marine Drive at about 11 p.m. on Saturday. The car, a sedan model, failed to take the sharp/ right-hand bend leading into Balena Bay. It left the road, crossed a strip of grass, and clay, and* was headed for the beach some fifteen feet below when it ran into a large yacht which had been drawn up on its cradle so that its bow was within a few feet of the bank. As the car plunged down the bank it struck the bow of the yacht and remained firmly wedged, with its [radiator beneath the yacht's forefoot. Whei^ the car was extricated by a breakdown van, it was seen that the yacht had come off an easy winner. The only marks of the encounter were several deep scratches on the bow and forefoot. The car was considerably I damaged.
