AUCKLAND'S TOUR
ROUND TRIP BY MOTOR
ARRIVAL IN WELLINGTON
Auckland's Rugby representatives, who are touring the ; North Island, arrived in Wellington this afternoon. There is an old-time touch about the tour in that it is being made by road, though, of course, the modern means of transport by bus and motor-car is employed. 'The side has an engagement with Wellington at Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon, and for this it will-be strengthened. Several of the players met with injury, in the match on a hard ground at Palmerston North yesterday, and it is possible that one (.Prentice) may be unable to play again on the tour, his ankle being sprained. Travelling with the team are Messrs. G. Orrell (of the Auckland Rugby Union's management committee) and F. W. Lucas (selector). Messrs. A. h. Baker (A.R.U. chairman) and A- Tilley, will be arriving on Saturday for the match. . The Auckland players on tour are:— Backs: A. E. ClarK, D. Martin, A. Prentice, D. Fle'tt, B. Grant, N. Pearman, D. Brady, B, Donaldson, F. Cooney, and J. Pile. Forwards: C. Pepper, H. Eond, A. Brown, H. F. McLean (captain), R. R. Hull, D. Wliillans, W. Lange, W. Knight, and J. I Galloway. L. Drake (forward) will join the team tomorrow, and J. Dick and D. Solomon (backs) will arrive on Saturday to reinforce the team for the match with Wellington. Lockington, Carson, and Pearce (forwards) I were not available for the tour.
The team, will remain in Wellington until Tuesday, and will then proceed to Masterton for a match with Wairarapa, going on afterwards to meet Hawke's Bay on.the following Saturday, and returning to Auckland on the Sunday. The players had a run at Athletic Park this afternoon.
