OBITUARY
MR. J. J. ROUSE
The death has occurred in Sydney of Mr. John Joseph Rouse, co-founder of the Kodak organisation in Australia and New Zealand. Mr. Rouse was born at Port Melbourne in 1861, and was educated at the Melbourne Grammar SchooL He took up professional photography and formed a partnership with the late Mr. Thomas Baker in 1887, under the name of Baker and Rouse. In 1907 they amalgamated with Kodak and formed a company under the managing directorship of Mr. Rouse. In 1890, Mr. Rouse married Anna, daughter of the late Mr. William Elsdor, Melbourne, and leaves one son and two daughters. He was a prominent citizen in Sydney and a keen promoter of the welfare and progress of the city. ~
