LABOUR DEPARTMENT DANCE
The Kelburn Kiosk was the scene of brightness and gaiety recently, the occasion being the annual staff dance of the Department of Labour. There was a large attendance of staff members and their friends, and the function was without doubt an unqualified success. N , . The head of the Department, Mr. J. S. Hunter, and the committee of the social club (represented by Messrs. H. Parsonage, A. T. Macdonald, and E. Chisholm) received the official party, which was as follows: —The Hon. H. T. and Mrs. Armstrong, the Hon. P. C. Webb, Mrs. J. S. Hunter, ' Mr. A. J. and Miss Ridler, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Stevens, Mr. H. and Miss Bishop, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Vassallo gave a clever tap dance. Prize-winners of the novelty dances were Miss Ridler and Mr. Oakley (Monte Carlo), and Mrs. R. Moor and Mr. T. Harvey (lucky spot).
