PLUNKET SOCIETY HELPED
Mrs. J. Jowett presided at a recent meeting of the Plunket Society, at I which Mrs. Greenwood was elected to 'fill a vacancy on the central committee. The society was specially gratified to recive a bequest of £50 from the ' Soldi Estate, and it was suggested that, as the society receives but few such benefactions, other people, would remember it when making wills. j Thanks were also given to the MacarI thy Trust for a grant recently received. It was mentioned that Mesdames [ Bitossi' and' Johnson had each given a pram, making three prams and pushchairs available . for the use of suburban and country mothers when visliting the city. Gifts of "woollies," fruit, old linen, and magazines were also acknowledged with thanks from Mrs. J. N. Mackie, Mrs. Hailwood, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Hume, Miss Barnett, and Miss Ward, Auckland Karitane Garden, "Karitane Nurse," and Townswomens'
