STUDENT MEMBER OF COUNCIL
The appointment of an additional member of the Victoria University College Council to represent the students is provided for in; a section of the Statutes Amendment Bill, which was read a first time in the House of Representatives yesterday. It is stipulated that the member must have attended lectures at the college within a period of two years immediately preceding his appointment, and he is to be appointed by the executive of the Students' Association. The appointment is for a period of two years, dating from. June next year. The amendment also provides that the bylaws of the Council do not have to be approved by the GovernorGeneral.
