CHINESE CHARGES
EVIDENCE FOR LEAGUE

GENEVA, September 6. The third Note to the League of Nations from the Chinese protesting against the use of poison gas byl the Japanese quotes documents which were found on the bodies of Japanese officers at Anking in the middle of June. One which was marked "Burn after use," allegedly issued on June 8 by the Commander of the Japanese left flank, contains instructions for the extensive" use of gas shells against Anking. The Note details the "provision of gas, and states as an instance that troops at Manning and Tahukwan were supplied with 1000 cylinders for smoke-screens, 100 containing an unnamed lethal gas, and between 1000 and 2000 chloride shells.
