ST. HILDA'S TENNiS CLUB

The first general meeting .of; the newly-formed St., Hilda's Lawn Tennis Club was held .recently at St Hilda's Hall, Island Bay, when the constitution and rules were adopted and the following officers elected:—President, the Rev. J. R. Neild; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Hitchihgs and C.E. Proctor; club captain, Mr. F. - Hastings; vice-captain, Miss P. Breeze; secretary, Mrs. Hastings; treasurer, Mr. J. Stephenson, with Miss M. Wagg and Mr. C. Venimore also on the'management committee. Mr. W. H. Collie was elected honorary auditor. The use of two courts at the Island Bay School has been obtained and the official opening of the season will be on Saturday, September 17. It was announced that application for membership had nearly reached the limit of playing membersthat can be accommodated and the enthusiasm expressed augurs well for a successful season.
