MUSICAL PARTY
FREE AMBULANCE BENEFITS
The guests were entertained with recitations, violin and 'cello solos, songs and dances at the party held yesterday afternoon by the ladies' auxiliary of the Wellington Free Ambulance in aid of the ambulance funds. The party took place in the Ambulance Social Hall, which was bedecked with bowls of variegated leaves.and warmed with -a bright fire.
Lady Norwood, president of the auxiliary, thanked the performers, and then the screens, which stood in the background behind the audience, were withdrawn revealing long tea tables laden with home-made delicacies and decorated with lovely daffodils and jonquils. Tea was served by the members of the committee and afterwards the flowers and the residue of the cakes were sold.
Mrs. T. F. Walshe arranged the programme. Those who took part 'were Mrs. Wilfred Andrews, Mrs. M. J. Goodson, Mrs. Eastwood, Miss Shirley Austin-Turtle, and Mr. H. F. Wood
