ENGLAND TO WELLINGTON

TRAVELLER'S EXPERIENCE

Ten days from Southampton to Sydney, and then seven more days to complete the journey to Wellington! This was the experience of Mr. H. Seff, representative of an English firm, who arrived by the Maunganui today.

Mr. Seff left Southampton on August 21 by the flying-boat Corinthian, and arrived at Sydney on August 30; "I had made an appointment for 4 o'clock in the Customs shed at Sydney, and we arrived at two minutes to the hour," he remarked to a "Post" reporter.

Mr. Seff,- who was accompanied by Mr. C. E. Young, is to place before the directors of the Centennial Exhibition proposals for the amusement section of the Exhibition. It is expected that the amusements will cost approximately £100,000.

The work of widening Abbott Road, Ngaio, will be commenced towards the end of October, and the macadam portion of Chelmsford Street will be sealed during the summer months.
