JERUSALEM, September 6.

An Arab jumped from a motor-car and fired ten shots, killing a Jewish shopkeeper and a customer, and wounding another person. The car drove off, but- was pursued by the police, who arrested the driver and the three passengers, all of whom were armed /with automatics.

Four terrorists were killed in an engagement in the Jewish settlement at Mishmarhayarden. A Jewish supernumerary and a constable were killed, and a companion wounded, at Rishonlezion. .An Afab constable was fatally shot at Beersheba.

The correspondent of "The Times" at Jerusalem reports that rebels who attacked Lydda by night burned the post office, damaged a railway bridge, derailed an engine and blocked the line, and cut down 4000 Jewish-owned fruit trees.

The increasing boldness of a coldblooded assassin, who indiscriminately murders Arabs and Jews, is creating alarm.
