DETTON DISABLES HANSEN

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, September 5,

A professional wrestling contest between Dean Detton and Billy Hansen resulted in a win for the former.

Immediately the gong sounded for the second round Hansen met his opponent with a dropkick which landed squarely on the solar plexus. Detton fell straight on his back and Hansen pounced on him to obtain a fall with a body press.

The match ended abruptly. Detton vigorously applied a reverse toehold in the fifth round, gaining a submission fall. Hansen lay on the mat for the greater part of the interval receiving attention from his second. He later limped to his corner with assistance. However, when the gong sounded for the start of the sixth round Hansen was lying on the mat having his knee massaged. The referee inquired of Hansen if he was fit to continue, and on receiving a negative answer declared Detton the winner.
