Mothers' Helpers' Activities.

At the recent meeting of ;th» Mothers' Helpers' Committee, whien Mrs. G. W. Guthrie presided, it was decided to hold a jumble sale at the end of the month. Donations were acknowledged from the T. G. Macarthy Trust, Mrs. J. A. Campbell, and Mrs. P. R. M. Hanna. St. Joseph's Hockey Club. The fourth annual dance of St. Joseph's Hockey Club will be held tonight in the Assembly Hall, Brougham Street. Every endeavour has been made by the committee to make the dance most enjoyable. A good orchestra has been engaged and a delicious supper will be provided. A very cordial invitation is extended to all interested in modern and old-time dancing to attend. National Party Evening. Although the weathe^ was unfavour* able about 50 people met at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. H. Ocken* den, Lyall Bay, on Saturday, and spent the evening playing bridge. The tables had been arranged and a pleasant time was spent. After the prizes had be'en distributed, Mr. Barker (candidate for Wellington East) spoke to those present and supper was served. Donations received from friends and players were given in aid of the National Party funds. Only Twelve Shades. Place two large breakfastcupfuls of bran in a square of muslin, and allow the hot water to run on it and soak the goodness out The water will become creamy, and soft. When you are in the bath you can squeeze the bag and rub it all over the body. These bran baths -have a very refining action on the skin. ._
