He was content to have a duel from the*back of the court or at the net and Riggs's tendency to net too many of his returns made the result inevitable.
In the fourth set Riggs simply netted or outed 90 per cent, of his returns after long and sustained but not particularly interesting back-court rallies. The Australian did not need to put on the pressure. He was simply steadier than his opponent.
