UNUSUAL ACCIDENT

EIGHT PEOPLE SUFFOCATED

NEW YORK, August 25. A message from San Luis Potosi (Mexico) states that eight persons died of suffocation and many were injured in an unusual accident in a cinema theatre. The crowd on the balcony, at the conclusion of the programme, started to move down the stairs. Someone stumbled, causing 50 persons to fall in a heap. Those at the bottom were smothered to death before they could be extricated.
