(From "The Post's" Representative.) A most successful combination was effected last night when the Hutt Valley section of the Toe H movement joined with the ladies' committee of the Plunket Society in holding an exceedingly well-organised dance in the Horticultural Hall, Lower Hutt, for the benefit of the. latter society. . All the arrangements were carried out by the organising dance committee of the Toe H, except for the excellent supper, which was provided by the Plunket ladies. A huge Chinese lantern in rosy pink hues formed the central feature of the decorations, while greertpainted- trellises,, intertwined with branches of flowering cherry blossom and bamboo foliage, were placed at intervals along the walls of the hall, breaking it into a series of alcoves. The same floral decorations on the orchestral platform surrounded- a lifelike stork, bearing his traditional burden, and at the far end of the hall shields were hung bearing the Toe H emblem in silver, black, and gold, and Plunket devices in red and white. A number of line-drawings^ by Mr. Jack Davies illustrating, the lighter side of Plunket activity were a source of much amusement to the company; Mrs. Walter Nash (vice-president of the Plunket committee); who was wearing a sheath-fitting frock of black romaine, and Mrs, E. The delectable Plunket supper was served in the supper hall adjoining, which was artistically decorated with rose-pink camellias and coppery birch foliage and tall stands of feathery bamboo. Staff Team's Dance. To celebrate a successful season during which the basketball team of Mac-. Duffs, Ltd., Petone, won two cups, the members of the team held an enjoyable dance in the Hutt Park pavilion' en Wednesday night. Streamers of every colour, formed a gay canopy: above the dance floor, and stands of native foliage made effective decoration. The club captain, Miss A. Successful Party. Mrs. W. Mitchell. High Street, Lower Hutt, was hostess to between fifty and sixty young people recently at a dance given at her residence in honour of JMr. William Smith, of Petone. Mrs. Mitchell received her guests wearing a gown of black lace over old gold satin, and-Mrs. G. Smith, who assisted her, was frocked in patterned georgette.
