She is scheduled to leave on Thursday for Port Chalmers. PERSONAL. Captain T. E. Bevan has taken command. of the Tamahine, relieving Captain C. Sharpe, who is ashore on sick leave. Captain E. R. Lowe has taken command of the Poolta and Captain H. S. Collier has joined the Kaimiro. Captain C. W. Ostenfeld is now in command of the Wingatui, Captain C. C. Waters having transferred to the Waipiata, relieving Captain W. A. Gray for orders. Captain W. W. Fish is taking command of the Ka lingo at Sydney, relieving Captain J. E. Warwick for orders, LIGHT ALTERED. The Marine Department advises that the light on the summit of Euaiki Island in the Tong# or Friendly Islands in lat. 21deg., 07min. S., long., I74deg., 59min W. (approx.) has been altered.■•the elevation is now 188 feet and the height of the tower Is 74 feet. The colour of the lighthouse is red. . PONUI PASSAGE LIGHT. The Ponui Passage light in the Hauraki Gulf, in position" latl 36deg. 45min S., and long. ITadeg. lo.9min E. (approx.), has been reestablished in a now white wood and steel tower 24ft high, standing on a pile platform. The elevation has been reduced to 21ft, and the visibility is now 9 miles. New Zealand. KARAMEA LEAVING TOMORROW. The Karamea Is to leave Wellington for New Plymouth and Auckland tomorrow to complete her loading. She will leave Auckland on September 7 for Southampton. and London, via Cape Horn and Las Palmas. WAIRANGI ADVISES. En route from Liverpool, the Wairangl has advised by radio that she will arrive at Auckland at 2 p.m. on Monday. Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers are her other discharging ports, and she is due. here on September 5. The Wairangi left Liverpool on July 30 and so Is making a smart passage out. WAIMANA AWAY. Having completed her loading the Wairaana left Auckland this for London and West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. She will travel via the Panama Canal and Kingston (Jamaica). SOUTH AFRICA FOR RICHMOND. The tanker South Africa, after completing discharge at Dunedin, is scheduled to sail on Sunday for Richmond, California. HORORATA LEAVES COLON.
