MISSING WOMAN
BODY RECOVERED
An extensive search by police, Boy Scouts, and tampers came to an end today when a body, believed to be that, of Mrs. Elsie Belle Mace, aged about 40, of Barnard Street, Wadestown, was located in the harbour at about 11.30 a.m. in the vicinity of the floating dock and recovered by the police. Mrs. Mace was missing from her home at 4 o'clock on the morning of July 24, and subsequently about 200 Boy Scouts and trampers, with the assistance of members of the Rotary Club, combed a large district, including the hills beyond Wadestown, the Ohariu Valley territory, and several portions of the coast as far north as Little Komaunga, near Titahi, and as far south as Pipinui, north of Ohiro Bay. It was thought at the time that Mrs. Mace, who was formerly a keen tramper, might have wandered off into the bush.
