PRESENT SURPLUS
REPLY TO MR. GOODFELLOW
When a statement attributed to Mr. W. Goodfellow, at Hamilton, that there would be £1,000,000 • sterling in the Dairy Industry Account, after allowing for the recent distribution, was referred to the Minister of Marketing (the Hon. W. Nash) today, the Minister said that the present surplus was less than one quarter of the amount mentioned by Mr. Goodfellow. "Mr. Goodfellow's figures are not correct," he said. "The average realisation for butter sales to date equals 117s 6d per cwt and cheese sales realisation to date equal 68s Id per cwt. The final figures will be published as soon as they are to hand."
