UNIVERSITY MATCH
INTER-ISLAND MATCH
For the inter-island University Rugby football match, to be played at Palmerston'North next Saturday, the North Island team has been completed with the choice of R. Burke (Victoria College) as hooker. Previously this position rested between Burlae and R. Thomas (also of Victoria College). There have been changes in the emergencies. Two Massey College players, C. Francis and H. C. Carter, are away and are not being called upon. Thomas will be an emergency forward.
Advice has bee I received by the New Zealand University Rugby Football Council that T. Berghan and C. W. Williams are unable to obtain leave for the match, and they have been replaced in the South Island team by P. B. Overton (back) and R. J. K. Hogg (forward), both of Canterbury. L. H. Simpson (Otago) and W. V. Hadfield (Canterbury) replace C. Dickenson (not available) and Overton as emergency backs, and A. J. Lake (Canterbury) is included as an emergency forward in place of Hogg.
The South Island team will be captained by P. F. Howden (Otago half), with C. W. Mack (an Otago forward) as vice-captain.
