BOY SCOUTS' ASSOCIATION
A gay carnival spirit pervaded the Boy Scouts' Hall, Seatoun, on Saturday night, when the committee held a fancy dress ball in aid of the general funds. Many excellent costumes were worn.
Mr. Tom Rowell, on furlough from the West Coast, gave a "Chalk-talk," which was very much appreciated by everyone present; later on an item on the ukulele was rendered by Mr. Viv. Middleton, which was also enjoyed. The winners of the various prizes were: /tidies.--Prettiest costume, Miss Pat. Oliver; most original, Miss Pat. Liardet; special. Miss F. Matthew. Gentlemen. —Funniest costume, Mr. Tui Morrison; most original, Mr. Ray Hill; special, Mr. Stan. Murphy. Several novelty dances added to the fun, and the "W Dance" heralded the midnight hour.
