MUCH IMPROVED

LORD GALWAY'S MESSAGE

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

Mr. Savage is much improved today and will get up for a while .this afternoon. His doctor remarked jocularly to members of the official party this morning: "I'll have him up at the post for the first race on Saturday."

Mr. Savage has expressed his thankfulness for the great kindness shown him in Auckland, also by many people from all over the Dominion who have written or telegraphed him. He has received daily visits from the Mayor (Sir Ernest Davis), and many people, including prominent business men. This morning he received the following telegram from the Governor-General (Lord Galway), who is at present at Nelson:—"Very sorry to hear of your indisposition. I hope you will soon recover and use the Government House grounds during your convalescence." Mr. Savage . commented to an interviewer that this .was a very generous offer.
