BASKETBALL TEST
NEW ZEALAND BEATEN
MELBOURNE, August 20.
Playing under Australian rules today, the All-Australia basketball team defeated New Zealand, 40-11. The Australians' play was characterised by sure shooting, and, although the New Zealanders had an equal part of the play, their forwards were penalised for progression.
The Australian team was: Miss Douglas (captain), Miss McConchie (vicecaptain), Miss Good, Miss Eckhart, Miss Wood, Miss Richter, Miss Linton. Miss Richter injured a knee and was replaced by Miss Medcalf.
The New Zealand team was: Miss Matangi (captain), Miss Mitchell (vicecaptain), Miss Martin, Miss Howe, Miss Willson, Miss Neame, Miss Howard.
The New Zealand team will leave on Sunday for Sydney to catch the Maunganui for Auckland.
