Howard Hughes, the millionaire aviator and round-the-world flyer, landed here today at 8.56 a.m., having set up a new trans-continental record for a commercial plane of 10 hours 35 minutes 50 seconds. He took off from Los Angeles at 6.21 p.m. yesterday. Hughes is co-operating with the

Mayo Foundation for testing a substratosphere, ultra-light oxygen mask. He plans several trans-continental flights six miles up, disregarding the weather.
