COBB TO MAKE AN ATTEMPT
BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS (Utah), August 20
The Australian-born motorist John Cobb touched 300 miles per hour in a test run today. The car performed perfectly. Cobb will make an attempt on the land speed record without further tests.
The present record, 311.42 miles per hour, was set up on the Bonneville Salt Flats, on November 19, 1937, by Captain G. E. T. Eyston,
