MANOR PARK CLUB
In the stableford bogey competition at Manor Park on Saturday, J. Ogilvie won the senior event with 32 points from R. Bullen, 31, and E. J. Moriarty and C. Allan, 30 points each. The winner in the intermediates was J F. Mills, 32 points. The best score for the day was handed in by E. W. Dawson in the juniors, with 35 points. E. J. Moriarty had an easy win in the senior bogey on Sunday, with all square. E. T. Cunningham won in the intermediates with 2 down, and P. Weenink in the juniors with 1 down. Moriarty was in good form and had a stroke round of 75.
The four-ball bogey played- in the afternoon resulted as follows: —A. Radford and H. Sherwood, 2 up; E. Butler and H. Linley, all square. The second round of the Timaru Cup was completed and the following are the results: J. Kelly beat S. Frankpitt; H, Boon beat E. G. Glennie; D. Low beat J. V. Baker; J. Ogilvie beat E. Trewby; G. Alston beat S. T. Livingstone; A. S. T. Butler beat R. Dixon; R. Bullen beat M. Hennessy. The fifth round matches of the junior two-life competition have also been completed. Results:—Marshall and Bilderbeck beat Elsmore and Baker; Swanson and Glennie beat Livingstone and Douglas; Smith and Dawson beat Hood and Linley. The draw for the sixth round will be announced later.
The championship qualifying rounds will be played on Sunday, over 36 holes. The first round matches for the veterans' cup will be played or? Saturday afternoon, and tha draw for this will be announced later.
