FEILDING LIVESTOCK SALE

FEILDING, August 19. There was a steady demand at the Feilding stock sale and a good price level was maintained. Fat sheep sold readily at values well up to last week, and for store lambs there was a keen inquiry. There was nothing very attractive on sale in the store cattle section, but some well-finished heifers and cows met keen competition in the beef department. Quotations were:— Sheep.—Extra prime lambs, 275; prime, 20s 6d to 2zs b'd; lighter, 18s to 19s 6d; others, 14s 3d to 17s 7d; primest wethers, 28s 9d to 30s 6d; lighter prime, 26s 6d to 28s; average sorts, 25s to 265; light, 245; shorn wethers, 22s 3d to 22s lOd; good ewe hoggets, 31s 9d to 33s 7d; second quality, 27s 4d to 31s Id; best wether hoggets, 20s to 21s 7d; smaller, 17s; culls, 12s 2d; good twotooth ewes, 36s 3d; inferior, 2cis 3d; best mixed aged ewes, 30s 8d; others, 28s 6d; four- and five-year do., 25s 6d; fiveand six-year do., 21s! aged do., 15s.
