NEW ISOLATION BLOCK

WANGANUI, This Day.
One of the most modern buildings of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the new isolation block at the Wanganui Public Hospital, was opened on Thursday by the chairman of the Wanganui Hospital Board, Mr. W. E. Broderick, with a gold key presented by the contractors, Messrs. Walpole and Patterson. Outlining the history of the negotiations, Mr. Broderick said that the new block was the result of 20 years' effort. Messages were read from the Minister of Health, the Hon. P. Fraser, regretting his inability to be present, and. from the DirectorGeneral of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, congratulating the board on the fine building. Representatives of many local bodies, the Member for the district, Mr. J. B. Cotterill, M.P., and the Mayors of Wanganui and Taihape, Messrs. W. J. Rogers and H. de Latour, were among the many present.
