Neither of the two Kent players, L, E. G. Ames and D. V. P. Wright, who were injured during the match between their county and Leicestershire this week, will be able to play in the fifth Test against Australia, which is to commence at the Oval tomorrow, according to an announcement made by the chairman of the English selection committee, Sir Pelham Warner.
Sir Pelham also announced that Ames's place would be taken by A. Wood (Yorkshire). ■
Ames received another injury to the finger which was broken in the second Test, and Wright's injury also affects one of his fingers. A doctor expressed the opinion that Wright should not play.
A special Test weather forecast says that rain is possible this morning, with a temporary clearance later, and the
further outlook is unsettled. The forecast for Saturday is for bright intervals with squally showers and a rather strong westerly breeze.
