ONE-DAY STRIKE
AUSTRALIAN COALMINERS
DISCUSSION OF DISPUTE
(Received August 20, 11.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A one-day strike in all collieries throughout the Commonwealth will be held on Tuesday, August 30, to enable miners to hold mass meetings to discuss the proposed general strike if their demands for better conditions are not granted. The log of claims is to be served upon the Federal and State Governments and the colliery owners next week, and fourteen days from August 23 will be allowed for reply. The plans of the leaders are to hold mass meetings and to have the strike J plan approved before the replies of the Governments and the owners are known.
