TEAGLE SMITH CUP
The Wellington Cash Cycling Clut> hejd a 35-mile road race for the Teagle Smith Cup on Saturday afternoon. The" weather was- cold, and the riders had a rough ride on greasy roads. W. Sinclair/ off two minutes, with Roberts and Staveley, was the star. His chain came off twice, but he eventually finished third, a great ride. L. Roberts* winner, an ex-amateur, who was having his second ride with the dub, rode a great race, and in a fast finish beat Staveley by a wheel G. Staveley, with 11 points, wins the Teagle Smith Cup. The second series of three races for the Hope Gibbons Shield was held on Saturday by the Wellington Cycling Centre at Island Bay. Strong winds and cold conditions made the event very unpleasant. Because of the adverse weather, times were slower than usual, many of the junior teams being broken up by the gruelling head winds. Detailed results:— Port Nicholson (A. G. Amey, O. Disley, J.
