Miss Keitha Weir, Auckland, is visiting Wellington as the guest of Mrs. Murray Litchfield, Wadestown. Mrs. R. Grant, Waitara, spent the weekend at Wellington. Miss E. T. Homer, Masterton, and Miss Mary Hunt, Christchurch, are on a six months' holiday tour, states "The Post's" London correspondent. This month they are going to the Highlands of Scotland. They will return south via England and Wales, and they hope; to see a little of the Continent. ■ • Mrs. P. L. Bennett, New Plymouth, arrived at Wellington during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Thomson, Dunedin, will leave tonight by the Maun-, ganui for the Islands cruise. They were met in Wellington by their daughter, Mrs. Stuart Morris, Nelson, who is accompanying them. Mr. and Mrs. Thomson will spend a holiday in the North Island on their return. Mrs. H. H. Mace and her daughter, Mrs. Jackson, New Plymouth, arrived at Wellington on Saturday. Miss Betty Simmons, Maraekakaho, who is the guest of Mrs. Van Breda and Mr. Geere-Watson, 14 Prince Street, will leave this evening by the Maunganui for the Islands. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Williams, Hataitai, who will be absent from Wellington for some weeks on a tour of the Islands, leave by the S.S. Maunganui at 8 o'clock tonight. Mrs. L. White, Wellington, will not be returning until October, 1&39, advises "The Post's" London correspondent. She has left London for Cornwall, and will travel extensively in the United Kingdom. Mr. and Mrs. A. Low, Christchurch, will leave by the Maunganui tonight. Miss Hazel Lewitt, Masterton, has been visiting relatives in the south of England. She is now spending a few weeks in London, before going to Scotland, where she will see many places of interest, states "The Post's" correspondent. A trip to the Continent will be made before the return voyage to New Zealand. Miss M. Nicholas, Mangatoki, was a weekend visitor to Wellington. At the annual meeting of the Wellington Travel Club, congratulations were extended by the chairman, Mr. G. G. Stewart, to Miss Amy Kane, a member of the executive of the club and chairwoman of the ladies' committee, on being appointed president of the Women's Institutes of New Zealand. Miss Molly Gore (Wellington) is coming up to London from Surrey at the end of July to stay at Bedford College for a fortnight's course in education, writes "The Post's" correspondent. When that is completed, Miss Gore and Miss N. Glover (Wellington) will make a motor tour in England and Scotland. A short time will be devoted to the Continent. Mr. and Mrs. W. Callender, Miss Mona Callender, Mrs. E. M. Bryant, and Miss A. Cable. Dunedin, will leave tonight by the Maunganui for a cruise to the Islands Miss Freda Doherty, Palmerston North, was a weekend visitor to Wellington, i Mrs. E. D. Colson, New Plymouth, has been visiting Wellington and rettirned home on Friday. Miss C. Reilly, Hawera, was a weekend visitor to Wellington. Mrs. C. Wjright, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Wellington. She will leave this week to visit her brothers in the United States and will be accompanied by her son. They will be away for a year. Miss Aynsley Kerr, Hawera, is the guest of Miss Barbara Eady, Island Bay. Guests at the Midland Hotel include Mesdames C. Oliver (Cambridge), R. Hall (Walton), L. Sleightholme (Wairakei), H. S. Vestey (Christchurch), J. Beckett (Wellington), A. Christie (Whangarei). Mrs. D. F. Gorringe (Mangaweka), Mrs. E. Potter (Christchurch), Mrs. M. K. Sewell, Misses M. Heise, C. C. Rockel, and F. A.
