Mr. W. O. Carlaw, co-manager of the New Zealand Rugby League team, said on his return that everywhere he went in Australia there were inquiries after Albert "Opai" Asher, what he was doing, now he.was, and any news concerning him. Australia still remembers the famous "Opai" Asher's greatness as a wing threequarter and that old title "Indiarubber Man" is still used. For the past few years "Opai" Asher has been caretaker of the Auckland Rugby League ground, Carlaw Park, 'and is still rer markably active and agile despite a decided limp, the result of a broken leg caused through hurdling an opponent.
