TRAVEL CLUB MEETING
The annual meeting of the Y.W.C.A.-Y.M.C.A. Travel. Club was presided over by Mr. J. F. Johnson in the absence of Mr. A. Leigh Hunt, and there was a large attendance. The V.M.C.A. Optimists conducted the musical part of the programme. After community, singing led by Messrs. W. H. Hindle and J.-N. Duncan, and songs by Mr. K. Macaulay, opportunity was taken to convey the club's good wishes to Miss L. Bridgman, Y.W.C.A. general secretary, who leaves shortly to visit Canada.
The annual report for the 1937 season was adopted. This stated that the varied programme of addresses by prominent speakers had furthered the club's aim of creating in its members an interest in and understanding of other countries and peoples, and encouraged to some degree a spirit of international sympathy which is one of the objectives of the parent association. .
A talk about Hawaii was given by Mr. Victor C. Jones. ;
Officers for the current season were elected as follows:—President, Mr. A. Leigh Hunt; vice-presidents, Dr. Elizabeth Bryson . (Y.W.C.A.), Mr. Will Appleton (V.M.C.A.); co-chairman, Miss M. E. Cooper (Y.W.C.A.), Mr. J. F. Johnson (V.M.C.A.); committee members, Misses J. Concrieve, ,V. Marshall; N. Scott, B* Oxley; Messrs; J. Beckett, D. Gwynn, C. Hulston, R. Mulliner; staff secretaries, Miss E. Benhell, Mr. J. L. White.
